Who We Are...
Tir Caim Wild Horse Sanctuary

Tir Caim Established 2021
Tir Caim began with the addition of a pregnant KNP Brumby mare to our little herd of Barmah Brumbies & Ex Race Horses on a 20-acre property near Yass in NSW, Australia.
An idea blossomed from here & within six months, we had sold our property, bought a new one and were moving into our current location.
Very quickly, we obtained a re-homers registration with Parks NSW. The first truck of trapped Kosciuszko Brumbies arrived only days later.
Fast forward 4 years & we have now grown to be one of the largest, privately funded & operated life sanctuaries in Australia!
Now we have 83 permanent life residents in care - from all areas of Kosciuszko National Park, the Bago State Forest, Bogong Victoria, Barmah Victoria & Todd River Downs Northern Territory.
Tir Caim exists simply for the horses. We do not sell, we do not breed & we do not promote 'service for sanctuary'.
Our horses are allowed the opportunity to live freely in managed herds & only recieve extended training for human based activities if the horse shows a willingness to engage in the 'Job'.
Wild horses are part of Australian history, without them & their service, Australia would not be the civilised country we have today.
Tir Caim exists to ensure Wild Horses are available, as the same living treasures they've been for over 150 years, well into the future.
